- What else is in it: 2% panthenol, 0.3% allantoin, 0.2% bisabolol for comfort, 4% glycerin, 1% betaine, 0.1% sodium hyaluronate to hold water, pH 5.8, vegan, 15 ingredients, formulated without fragrance, essential oils, denatured alcohol, dyes or silicones

From the brand

Tacet means it is silent
In a score, tacet tells one instrument to rest while the piece goes on. We liked that: a product that does its job and otherwise keeps quiet. So the formulas are short, every number on the label is one we can explain, and nothing is added for show. Three serums, one bottle shape, one vermilion dot that marks the number worth reading first.

Why 15 ingredients?
Fifteen is enough for the job. Each one has a purpose we can name, and a short list is easier to read on a phone before you decide.
What does the dot mean?
The vermilion dot above the name marks the one number worth reading first on any panel. On Calm Serum, that number is 1% ectoin.

Calm, at a stated dose
Two actives, each at a dose we print on the label: 1% ectoin, so skin feels soothed, and 5% niacinamide, so tone looks more even. Around them, 13 ingredients with a job each and nothing for show. Clear and water-light, without fragrance, made for sensitive, redness-prone and combination skin. Morning and evening, 3 to 4 drops, under moisturizer.
Module 2 · Premium Three Images & Text

1% ectoin
Ectoin is an extremolyte, a small molecule that salt-lake microbes make to hold water around themselves. On skin it does the same: it binds water at the surface, so skin feels soothed, comfortable and less tight. We use it at 1%, a dose set for skin that reacts, and we print that number on the label.

5% niacinamide
Niacinamide is vitamin B3. At 5% it sits within the 2 to 5% range used in published cosmetic studies. With daily use, skin tone looks more even and pores look refined. The studies are listed in the note at the end of this page.

The other 13 ingredients
Around the two actives, a short base: 2% panthenol, 0.3% allantoin, 0.2% bisabolol, 0.1% low-molecular sodium hyaluronate, 4% glycerin and 1% betaine. Then water, propanediol, a cellulose thickener, a preservative pair and a citrate buffer that holds pH 5.8. No fragrance, no essential oils, no dyes, no silicones, no denatured alcohol. Thirteen, each with a job.

Read the numbers first
The label carries the numbers that matter; the formula sheet carries the rest. Each dose was chosen for skin that reacts and then written down, so you can read it before you decide and plan what to layer it with. Four of those numbers, in four dishes.
- Ectoin 1%: binds water at the surface, skin feels soothed
- Niacinamide 5%: tone looks more even, pores look refined
- Panthenol 2%, allantoin 0.3%, bisabolol 0.2%: skin feels comfortable
- pH 5.8, buffered: stated on the formula sheet, checked on every batch

Texture, up close
Tacet Calm Serum is a clear gel with the weight of water. It spreads thin, settles quickly and leaves skin feeling smooth rather than tacky, so moisturizer goes on over it. No fragrance, no essential oils, no color. The texture is the formula: 15 ingredients, and water is the first.
Module 5 · Premium Four Images & Text

Step 1: clean skin
Start on clean, dry skin, morning and evening. Lift the dropper straight up; one squeeze of the bulb draws enough for one application. Keep the glass pipette off the skin so the serum left in the bottle stays clean.

Step 2: 3 to 4 drops
Place 3 to 4 drops across the face and the front of the neck: forehead, both cheeks, chin. Keep the dose the same morning and evening. The 60-day count per bottle assumes 4 drops twice a day.

Step 3: press in
Press the serum in with flat fingertips rather than rubbing it across the skin. The gel spreads into a thin, even film and settles quickly. Give it a short moment before the next layer; there is no need to wait for it to dry fully.

Step 4: moisturizer
Follow with your moisturizer. In the morning, your sun protection goes on last. Close the bottle after each use and keep it out of direct sun. One bottle lasts about 60 days at 4 drops twice a day. Use within 12 months of opening; the open-jar symbol on the carton says 12M.

Module 7 · Premium Q&A
Before you decide
Can I layer it with retinol or vitamin C?
It layers under other leave-on products. Apply Calm Serum first on clean skin, let it settle, then the other product. If your skin reacts easily, introduce one leave-on active at a time and keep the rest of the routine unchanged for 2 weeks.
Does it have a scent?
Nothing is added for scent: no fragrance, no essential oil, no masking scent. What you may notice is the faint smell of the raw materials themselves.
How long does one bottle last?
About 60 days at 4 drops twice a day. The 30 ml bottle is ceramic-coated glass with a glass pipette. Use within 12 months of opening; the 12M symbol is on the carton.
Why 5% niacinamide and 1% ectoin?
Because we can point to a source for each. 5% niacinamide sits within the 2 to 5% range used in published cosmetic studies on the look of tone and pores. 1% ectoin sits within the use range in the ingredient supplier's data, and it is the dose we built the base around.
